contact data

RocketReach

RocketReach is a contact lookup service with an API-first design. This profile covers what it does, how it is priced, and where it stops being the right choice.

What the product actually does

RocketReach resolves a name and company, or a LinkedIn URL, to an email and a phone number. The API is a first-class product rather than an afterthought, which makes it a common choice for teams building enrichment into their own tooling.

The lookup model is per-request rather than per-export, which suits an application that resolves contacts one at a time as users interact with it.

How pricing works once you are inside

Monthly plans with lookup allowances, where email and phone lookups consume different amounts. The API tiers are priced separately from the web interface, and the API allowance is usually the smaller of the two.

The phone numbers are the expensive lookup and the one worth testing first, because the connection rate varies by industry and region more than the email accuracy does.

Where it breaks down

Accuracy on direct dials. As with every provider in this category, phone data ages faster than email data, and a number that was verified last quarter may belong to someone else now.

The web interface is functional rather than pleasant, and teams that expect a polished prospecting experience usually end up using it only through the API.

What switching costs

Low. The API is documented and the data is portable; the integration code is the only work.
