sales engagement
Salesloft
Salesloft is a sales engagement platform. This profile covers what it does, how it is priced, and where it stops being the right choice.
What the product actually does
Salesloft runs cadences — the same multi-step outbound sequence model as its competitors — with a strong emphasis on the conversation side. Call recording, transcript analysis and coaching sit alongside the sequencing rather than behind a separate purchase.
The Rhythm feature is the workflow layer: a rep's day is assembled from cadence steps, meetings and tasks into one queue, which is a meaningful difference from a tool that only shows a list of sequences.
How pricing works once you are inside
Per seat, annually, negotiated. The tiers gate the analytics and the coaching features, and the conversation intelligence is where the price difference between tiers lives.
As with every platform in this category, the seat price is one line of a larger outbound budget that includes data and dialling.
Where it breaks down
The same adoption problem as the whole category: a cadence tool is only as good as the discipline of the team using it.
Reporting depth is also a common complaint. The built-in dashboards answer the standard questions and stop before the ones a sales operations team actually asks, which pushes teams into the API.
What switching costs
High. Cadence definitions, call recordings and coaching history are all platform-specific.
