contact data
UpLead
UpLead is a contact database with a verification guarantee. This profile covers what it does, how it is priced, and where it stops being the right choice.
What the product actually does
UpLead sells access to a contact database with a stated accuracy guarantee: an address that bounces is replaced. That guarantee is the product positioning, and it is aimed squarely at the bounce-rate problem that damages sending reputation.
The search interface covers the standard firmographic and technographic filters, and the export is per-contact rather than per-seat, which changes the economics for a team that needs a large list once rather than a small list continuously.
How pricing works once you are inside
Per month with a credit allowance, and the credits are consumed on export rather than on search. That means a team can search and filter freely and only pays when it commits to a contact, which is a friendlier model than paying to look.
The accuracy guarantee has conditions, and reading them is worth the time: the replacement applies to addresses that bounce within a defined window and were not altered after export.
Where it breaks down
Database size. UpLead is smaller than the major providers, and for a niche market the coverage may simply not be there. Testing against your own target list before buying is essential.
The tooling around the data is thin. There is no sequencer and no CRM-native workflow, so it is a data source rather than a platform.
What switching costs
Very low. The export is a CSV and there is no workflow to rebuild.
